GA4 Setup &
Configuration
Out-of-the-box GA4 misses up to 80% of your e-commerce conversion data. We implement the full tracking stack — purchase funnel events, custom dimensions, Consent Mode v2, and a Looker Studio dashboard you'll actually use.
The GA4 Problem Most Stores Have
Sound familiar?
Missing Revenue Data
Purchase events fire but revenue in GA4 looks 40% lower than your Shopify dashboard. The data is there — it just isn't being captured correctly.
Privacy Compliance Gap
GDPR and CCPA require Consent Mode v2 for EU visitors. Most stores have a cookie banner but never actually connected it to GA4's consent signals.
Double-Counted Conversions
Both a hardcoded gtag.js tag AND a GTM tag are firing purchase events. Every order is counted twice, making your data useless for decisions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will I lose my Universal Analytics historical data?
Universal Analytics stopped collecting data in July 2024, but your historical data remains accessible in the UA interface for a period after that. We strongly recommend exporting your UA historical data to BigQuery or Google Sheets before it becomes unavailable. GA4 does not backfill historical data from UA.
How long does a full GA4 setup take?
For a standard e-commerce store, expect 3–7 business days for the core implementation. Complex setups — multi-currency stores, headless commerce, custom checkout flows — can take 2–3 weeks. We scope this clearly before starting.
Do you integrate with Shopify, WooCommerce, and custom stores?
Yes — all three. Shopify has a specific challenge with the hosted checkout domain; WooCommerce uses a different data layer pattern; custom stores require bespoke implementation. We've handled all of these.
What is Consent Mode v2 and do I need it?
Consent Mode v2 is Google's mechanism for collecting modeled data when users decline cookies — required for EU traffic and for Google's Enhanced Conversions feature to work correctly. If you have any EU visitors or run Google Ads, yes, you need it.
Can you migrate us from a manual gtag.js implementation to GTM?
Absolutely. This is one of the most common requests we get. We audit the existing hardcoded implementation, replicate all tracking in GTM with a clean data layer, QA to ensure parity, then remove the redundant hardcoded tags.
